Spilman 06:00
I draw my bow, in one great swing And pull it slow across the strings ‘cause in these halls, with my last breath I’ll sing to you the song of death Hear my final requiem a cadence cowards would condemn Hear my nocturne of the end A ballad that the brave commend My gilded tongue will spur them on and loyalty will keep us strong my melodies disturb their peace and will drown out their hopeless pleas and when my song is finally done none live to see the rising sun and when we all are dead and gone who will sing the poets song? I’m the spilman And I’m singin’ Of your final days So sing with me And just maybe They’ll sing a song for you someday

Dragonborn 09:06
Over mountains Through frosted hillsides Nordic twilight Arctic sunrise Breathing cold air Bearing cold steel Spilling warm blood On wintry battlefields The land where we stand divides And death comes from the skies He shouts with the power to shake the aurora A man from the north who was born on the snow The flesh of a man and the blood of a dova The will of a warrior, a hero arose. Through the cold earth Where ancient dead lie To the highest peak To hear the greybeards’ cry To the ruins To find the key of time To the afterlife To fight for mankind A wind from the north Will carry my voice A throat from the south Will harbor my shout

Don’t fear the man behind the curtain But rather fear what’s inside the man A man’s intentions for us all is certain A man’s intentions for himself is grand The Novelty is gone, now we’re left to weather Like a standing stone in the ruins of remorse The subtlety is done, now we’re lost forever Like a current in a river that flows against its source Where once the rain fell upon the soil Now soot and ashes are strewn about Inside the man there hides the seeds of evil And from within his skin the darkness will sprout

Mausoleum 06:52
The stone is cold against my cheek Where I lay down tonight to sleep To lay beside where justice died My father lies eternally Cut down by men consumed with greed Who meant to take all that he owned But here it lies along with me Beneath these meager walls of stone Here I lie, at my father’s grave In the Mausoleum They took his life, but I’ll save his pride In the Mausoleum They came at night to break the walls Without a respite for the dead I stabbed my steel into the black and pulled it back and it was red I saw the look of fear that turned To anger after their surprise My father fought these men alone But now I’ll fight them by his side Here I lie, at my father’s grave In the Mausoleum They took his life, but I’ll save his pride In the Mausoleum Now I'll fly, from my father’s side In the Mausoleum To find the men, and exact revenge Save the Mausoleum!

Free to Fall 04:58
Fear I let it take ahold of me In this place… Where God Gently turns the other cheek To look away… And Death Looms above like a guide Oh so old… And Life Looms behind me like the lies I never told… As I descend into hell the place where the greatest of angels dwells I’ll take the greatest of man in me To rise above just to fall again free Strength! I let it grow inside of me It feeds my will… I’ll rise! Through the bleak, blood canopy To reach the hill… Where I At the peak survey them all With pitied eyes Souls Who so morosely chose to fall Or couldn’t rise… Pray, pray your lives away, ‘cause the price of faith Is a life in chains To be saved is to be enslaved, when it’s all a game That we’re taught to play

about

Volker is a warrior minstrel in the epic poem "The Nibelungenlied." He is referred to also as the Spilman, and while he makes only a brief appearance towards the end of the poem, he leaves a lasting impact with a valorous last stand, interweaving his swordplay with the the bow of his fiddle - blurring the line between war and song. We aim to capture the spirit of Volker and all warrior-poets in our music that has been dubbed "Adventure Metal."
